UN human rights - Pakistan must restore democratic rule, UN human rights experts urge We are deeply alarmed at the imposition of the state of emergency in Pakistan and condemn the suspension of fundamental freedoms, including the right not to be deprived of one’s liberty, freedom of movement, peaceful assembly and freedom of expression,” said the group in a statement which followed expressions of concern expressed also by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and other UN officials. Further Condemning “the excessive use of force by the police, the brutal repression and the massive arrests that have occurred during demonstrations organized by lawyers to protest against the suspension of the Constitution,” the statement also raised concern about the pervasive restrictions placed on the media, particularly the suspension of broadcasts of all international and national privately owned channels, as well as the serious assaults inflicted upon journalists by members of the police and security forces. Asian Human Rights Commission - Press Releases The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) urges upon the government of Pakistan to disclose the names of judges, lawyers, journalists, human rights activists and political workers that are continuing to be detained under the emergency rule.
The names of the detainees and the places where they have been detained, which are minimum requirements in the UN’s Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners, have not been readily available to detainee’s families. Of the 3,500 lawyers reported to have been arrested and detained only around 500 judges and lawyers were identified. "Without the names of detainees and place of detention, they would be at the mercy of the security forces taking them into custody. They could torture, kill, make them disappear and nobody would know," said Baseer Naveed, senior researcher for South Asia desk.

Difficult times continues for media spokemans and Anchors. Shahid Masood, Hamid meer, Talat hussain, Kashif abbasi, Mushtaq minhas, Nusrat Javed and many more have to pay for spoken truth to the nation. When Pervez musharraf coup in 1999, He had some direction to lead the country, and in order to achieve his goal for the country his major objectives were the global market, foreign investors, stronge political structure(controled or independant), and free media. He was very much succeed in his objectives but he completely forgot the meaning of free media. Media represants the point of view of the peoples and thing which musharraf forgot is his unfavourable policies which lead him and the country to the uncertain situation. He should understand the interest and nature of the people and quit his role as a saver of pakistan and let free election to be happen to deside what people want. After 8 year of rule its very normal that one lost his all support both nationally and internationally. But the moment you neglect your surrounding you falls. Position of rulling party was not that bad for the election but after the decision of 3 Nov, they had lost the competetion completely, Mulslim leaque (Q) and MQM are the only two parties effected from it. Let see either Musharraf take his next step in the interest of pakistan or in the interest of his own.

Some peoples asked why not we get these kind of chances to become billionaires, why not we have assets all around the world for backup, are we not nationalist or loyal to nation. Talking about Deal, i would like to share comments in form of some questions asked in the article below by a common pakistanis on the topic "Will the SC verdict pave the way for a smooth and peaceful transition to democracy?" on theNews.

comment:1 "Nothing will happen for democracy and common man. Giving Bhutoo/Zardari a pass of billions of Dollars by bringing Ordinance is one of the big moral crimes committed by any government in this era. In the USA and West politicians' whole career eliminated just for smaller corruption of even $500. Officials go behind the bars for accepting international travel. For God sake the whole poor people have been deprived of billions of Dollars just for 30 politicians. These 30 politicians should be banned from politics forever and put behind the bars. Why not Pakistani government never used its influence on US and British Governments, FBI and CIA to investigate that how come Bhutto, Zardari showing $3000 per year of average income for the last 30 years, have accumulated so much of wealth? Can Musharraf, any General, CJ of SC, any lawyer, or any brave person can ask West and the USA to investigate these international thieves from all parties? The people of Pakistan have to defeat them in elections and bring them to justice. I pray to Allah that if these people are real looters, then why Allah does not catch them. Where are our ‘activist lawyers and judges’ who are supporting Aitzaz Ahsan of PPP, who is like a partner in the crime? Shame on the government and all those, who negotiated with PPP--Allah will never leave you alone for giving relief to the looters of poor Pakistani people."

comment:2 "When the parliament consisting of about 450 members cannot guarantee the interest of the country protected, how do you expect a court consisting of 15 members will watch and protect the interest of the country?"

comment:3 "This is so absurd by some of the commentators that Supreme Court verdict is not acceptable. Supreme Court can only translate the law, which are made by the parliament. The other point I want to mention here is where in the constitution it says that the parliament cannot elect President twice in five years especially, which is completing its term? If the outgoing parliament can pass an amendment in the constitution in its dieing days for the rest of life of the country, then why it cannot elect President twice? Do not compare Europe /America's public with our educated people, as our so-called educated are the worst than the illiterate of any country."

comment :4 "I would like to point out after years Pakistan has reached some level of recognition. The present situation is pathetic, where our country's lawyers are acting like lunatics, ranting and raving once again. They should be reminded that a country does not move forward or establish itself on the verdict of the lawyers especially, not our country's, as they do not seem to know what they want, sometimes they fight for their kind and sometimes against their own."

Supreme court announced on friday a decision about constitutional petition aginst holding dual-office by Gen Musharraf, dismissing the petitions filed by opposition leaders, Government party is celebrating the outcome by the court, as well as Election commision has accepted the nomination papers of Pervez musharaf, Amin fahim (pppp) and Wajih-ud-din (represanting pakistan lawyers). On saturday morning when chief election Commissioner Justice (R) Qazi Farooque scrutinizing the papers of nomination for presidental election great protest were seen by the lawyers against pervez musharaf participation in election with holding office of chief of army staff. protest by karachi bar, lahour bar and from other lawers forum were also reported. Hundreds of lawyers as well as political workers and peoples from civil society were torture and arrested by police and other law inforcement agents, also Press and media has apposed harassment and torture done by the police and other agencies in the civil dress as they were only trying to update the nation with the current news in the country, but came under the police strike willingly. Lawyers had once again decided to go to supreme court let see what effect it may cause on presidential election.

President Gen. Pervez Musharraf will seek a new five-year term in a presidential election set for October 6, As said that Musharraf's current term expiring on November 15. The Supreme Court on Thursday continued hearing a raft of complaints -- including over recent changes to the election rules that favor Musharraf, and the judgment is most probably expected on 24 october. APDM (all partied democratic movement) had annouce there resigning from assemblies after hearing the presidential election schedule. PPPP still not intrested in paricipating in any APDM decisions, and on the other hand Maulana fazal-ur-rahman of JUI not looking possitive on APDM current decission. The role of Benazir & Fazal-ur-rahman are continue looking Ambiguous in the current senario, that is to see what will be Musharraf's choice to deal with, but some people thinks that deal has been done but not announced so it will be the political situation which will give us clue and clues are start coming and very much visible. PML (Q) are looking united still but if Musharraf want to set a united state favorable team of moderate forces to be supported then it will be very critical to go aside with all this.

what is going to happen on 10th of sep is a big question, we being looking the strategies building on both sides, current situation is very tense, leaders and workers of pakistan muslim league (N) are arrested by the government, posters from walls welcoming nawaz sharif are being removing many times said by the party represantatives. There are 4 plans PML (N) has under consideration about returning of Nawaz Sharif to pakistan. They will either came through a normal flight or by a chartered plane, the other two plans will be annouced on that day before there arrival.Ruling out any compromise with President Pervez Musharraf, exiled former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed to oust the military dictator from power in the next six weeks. "His tenure ends on October 15 and he (Musharraf) has no constitutional right to remain. I hope to force him to step down by October 15 .

Saudi government is still wanted Nawaz Sharif not to break his promises with Saudi government and keep himself out from pakistan and not to play any part in politics for 3 more years. On the other side court has ordered to arrest Shahbaz Sharif in the extra judicial killing case registered against him in 2000.
On the other side President Pervez Musharraf awaiting the Arrival of US deputy secretary of state John Negroponte and South Asian under-secretary of State Richard Boucher, the head of General Musharraf's main support base described the military ruler's chances of staying in power as increasingly poor. Its look like that President Musharraf is strongly needed by US with coallience with moderators like benazir bhutto, Supporter of PPPP are also not looked satisfy with the deal news between Benazir and Government. Still the picture is not that clear as PML (Q) is very disturb with the current politics of pakistan, and this PML(Q) will suffer most.

This post is just to give an introduction with the latest book published by FSG (Farrar, Straus and Giroux) with the Tilte "The Israel Lobby and US foreign Policy", Authers of this book are John J. Mearsheimer & Stephen M. Walt. This book raise some of very important question well known but not well discussed among internation politics. Is US- Israel relation benefits to US itself?, The relation of The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Polocy, What are the strategies the lobby uses to influence the policymaking process of US? America’s national interest, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, Why there isnt a single member of Republican or Democratic party who can spoke against the israeli brutality?. There are lots of other issues discussed in this Book openly debatable and it will raise some voices around the world in near future.

Pakistan as a front line state in so called war against terrorism, will face direct war by US in near future? this is very likely, in the presant senario where presidential elections is pakistan are about to be happened this year september 2007, and what ever the result may be, pakistan will not be in position to fought more and shade their own blood for the name of war against extremism any more, On the other hands where Bush administration (republican party) are loosing their hopes, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Wednesday that he would possibly send troops into Pakistan, and more then that Pakistan will risk a U.S. troop invasion and losing hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. military aid. further more Obama said that as commander in chief he would remove troops from Iraq and putting them "on the right battlefield in Afghanistan and Pakistan." He said he would send at least two more brigades to Afghanistan and increase nonmilitary aid to the country by $1 billion.
A Pakistani Foreign Ministry statement said: "President Bush stated that the United States fully respected Pakistan's sovereignty and appreciated Pakistan's resolve in fighting Al Qaeda and other terrorist elements." It added that Bush said such statements were "unsavory and often prompted by political considerations in an environment of electioneering". President Musharraf when asked on a dinner at the house of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz about the potential of U.S. military operations in Pakistan, and told guests that Pakistan was "fully capable" of tackling terrorists in the country and did not need any foreign assistance.
On the other side, 1,000 tribesmen rallied in Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal area, condemning recent military operations and chanting slogans against the United States for threatening to attack. "We are able to defend ourselves," a local cleric, Maulvi Muhammad Roman, said in a speech at the rally. "We will teach a lesson to America if it attacks us."
whatever the situation may be, pakistan will be in more critical situation then before, and in the global politics where china & russia are balanceing their wings & charging them to secure there intrests in the region. lets see what happens next.
